  • Winnie joins us from Save the Children International, where she has been doing Child Rights Programming for the East and Southern Africa (ESA) Region over the last four years. In that period, she managed to oversee implementation of both sida and Danida funded projects aimed at strengthening Youth-led and Child Focused CSOs within the ESA region.

    She also led different content gathering activities and field missions in Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Dakar, Djibouti and Arusha ahead of the establishment of the pan African Child-led organization in 2021 as well as consultations with youth in the horn of Africa on the draft IGAD Youth policy.

    Winnie has a vast experience in engaging with Regional economic blocks on policy influencing such as the EAC, ACERWC and IGAD.

    During her course of work, Winnie managed sub grants to partners in the ESA region including (Graca Machel Trust, Childrights Network of Southern Africa and Africa child policy forum).

  • Winnie holds a Bachelor degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi, Professional Project Management Certification (PDPro) and is currently pursuing masters in Rural Sociology and Community Development at the University of Nairobi.

    During her free time, Winnie enjoys spending quality time with her son, hiking and visiting different destinations.
