In preparation for the fiftieth session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development (CPD) in April 2017, the Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Rights has submitted a written statement on this year’s CPD theme of: “Changing population age structures and sustainable development”. The statement calls on governments to prioritize youth rights, inclusion, and participation in the Sustainable Development Goals through a focus on comprehensive sexuality education, meaningful youth participation, investment in youth-friendly services and by adopting a human-rights approach in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
The statement can be found on the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs website under the General Debate section of the official agenda. You can view the statement in English, French and Spanish and download the full statement here.
