Relevant Experience

Currently, Kokou is a Youth Intern at the International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Region (IPPFAR) Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya. He has experience in clinical health management and has over the years, acquired experience in program cycle development and management. He joined ATBEF, an affiliate Member Association of IPPFAR in Togo in 2004 as a Peer Educator.

He has led the youth wing of the association termed Youth Action Movement (YAM) as National President from 2007 to 2009. As youth representative in the national governing board he fostered youth leadership and participation in program and governance. As a Youth Intern, he was very instrumental in the development and implementation of youth led advocacy work in the Africa Region surrounding sensitive issues of Safe Abortion, Gender Based Violence and Sexual Diversity and he scaled up Comprehensive Sexuality Education in schools and communities. He facilitated many regional workshops and trainings targeting young people in the areas of Leadership and Governance and participated in the Safe Abortion conference organized by IPAS in Ghana as a member of the conference’s draft committee.

Kokou has supported youth clinics in providing quality youth friendly gender sensitive health services to ensure better access to services for young people and provided back-stopping support to donor funded projects at country level.

Additional Information

Kokou speaks fluent French, English and basic Portuguese. He believes that “Everyday is an Opportunity to Learn”.
