  • Mercury Duma advocate for literature to reach every child in South Africa regardless where they come from. He has worked with different organisations in South Africa reading stories to children, hold literature conversations in Anon Pop Rise Exhibition and in the Durban University of Technology. His Performing Art enthusiasm has allowed him to use his voice for activism in poetry and drama to address Queer Visibility and Transgender activism particularly focusing on access of gender affirming healthcare rights. Through documentary series like Stand with us, he calls for Accountability from healthcare workers and the community prominent to transphobia. He was a participant in the Master's degree called Queering the Queer: Engaging Black Queer Christian Bodies in the African Faith Landscape

  • Mercury is currently studying Criminology degree in the University of South Africa. He is passionate about books and hopes to fulfill his vision to have a library in the township, Imbali.
