As Youth Coalition, our work was to to revise and input on the drafting and discussion of the Action Coalition blueprints which were released in the Generation Equality Forum held in Mexico from 29 to 31 of March 2021. During this process YC also participated in the creation of the Young Feminist Manifesto which highlights young leader’s needs and necessities in order to participate meaningfully of this process. Find out more about our participation in the Generation Equality Forum below!

young feminist manifesto

The YCSRR, in partnership with young activists, developed this manifesto in the context of the Generation Equality Forum (GEF). It seeks to offer a young, intersectional feminist vision for the GEF and the ACs, as well as some concrete recommendations to positively impact the GEF/ACs and make it a truly feminist, transformative and intersectional space and process. Please take the time to read, and support our demand for youth-friendly and youth-led decision making spaces!

“My Body, My Voice” Youth Consultation

In the lead-up to providing feedback to the GEF Action Coalition on SRHR and Bodily Autonomy, the YCSRR conducted a participatory process to establish the specific priorities of different groups of historically marginalized young people. To that end, we conducted 7 focus by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, Black and Afro-descendant youth, Sex Workers, Youth with Disabilities, Adolescents, and Indigenous Youth. We addressed the topics of bodily autonomy, sexual health services, and comprehensive sexuality education, as well as the specific needs that young people have in order to meaningfully participate.
